Observatoire, PuristS 10 Vingt 8 and Vingt 8 dial photos

Oct 09, 2011,12:52 PM

Inspired by Gary G´s impressive photos of the back of the Observatoire I have tried to do justice to the dial of my watch.  The appearance changes all the time depending on the light and reflections. This how it looked today.  The watchband is dark blue. Kari offered it when I visited him in the summer.  I think it suits the case and dial perfectly.

I can only join all of you who admire Kari´s skills and his very pleasant personality.

You will also see two photos I took in Kari´s atlier. From left to right: Vingt 8, PuristS 10 Vingt 8 and Observatoire.

in my opinion i find it easy to create beautiful dials Yet its not easy nor common to see a self renewing ones with each light reflection such as Kari's pieces. Wear it in good health. Thanks for sharing. Faisal

Funny how many posts we have about KV watches.

as this seems very you but I recall that maybe you have preference for non-indies.

I don't know the Indies World very well, Arthur.

And when it comes to watches, I love to take my time, it avoids me to make mistakes... That is not that I don't love Indies, I am in my learning phase, I see a several things I love, others I totally dislike, and things I'm not confident at all... But if ...

Taking time

Actually, now that you mentioned about taking time... that is what I have lost... taking time to really know the next purchase, letting time test whether I really like it... a Kari of sort is so you though

I find the dials gorgeous in photos but harder to read in real life

I especially like your second photo - it's fantastic. I could examine it top to bottom, over and over. I talked with Kari a little bit last week, looking at both the grey and blue dials he had on hand. He loves them and yet he also said most clients go fo...

I actually ordered a second dial - white with dark markers. I was almost sure that I would exchange the graphite dial for the white. However, when I visited Kari I did not bring the white dial. As you understand, I am very fond of the dark one and the sec...

Beautiful shots!

I like all of them a lot, but as someone who has a weakness for sharp images, I enjoyed the first one even more than the rest. Great job with the first two shots, showing how the numerals take on completely different characteristics in different light. Th...
