A few initial photos of the Habring Doppelchronograph
By: Gary G : May 25th, 2012-14:29
Greetings to all! As promised, a few photos from the light tent of the Habring Doppel. The good news for you is that I somehow deleted my longer first version of this post prior to hitting the "insert" button, so you'll be saved the lengthy narrative. On ...
And two more from yesterday...
By: Gary G : May 25th, 2012-14:55
I had forgotten that I took a few shots with my P&S after unboxing the watch yesterday. So, one desktop photo: ..and a first wristshot! Best, Gary G...

I am very pleased that you liked these -- it was a lot of fun photographing this one, and I am looking forward to more opportunities to do so. Also looking forward to showing this one to you in person! Best, Gary
Thanks...

...for the brilliant shots, Gary! They are beautiful! You really bring out the soul of the piece in these pictures. The blue of the dial is quite spectacular! What a lovely watch! Congrats again! *cheering* Daos
Thanks, Nicolas...now about that theme
By: Gary G : May 29th, 2012-06:03
...looks like I may be headed that direction! I do like this complication quite a bit -- the Habring/IWC embodiment is of course a lot different than the Lange version, but that makes it all the more interesting to me. Best, Gary G
I saw the GO the other night
By: Gary G : May 29th, 2012-06:19
...and liked it quite a bit! I have a few comments on it in the post I just put up on KIH's visit to NorCal -- the combo of split seconds and big date is really appealing to me. As for PP, I'll have to put more coins in my piggy bank before I add one of t...
that is gorgeous

I kinda think I'd prefer a solid back, but that is one sweet watch. Thanks for the pics! _john
I see your point, John
By: Gary G : May 29th, 2012-06:12
The Habring solid back (as on the original Chrono) is very clean, just like the rest of the case design, and this movement is perhaps not the most photogenic. That said, to the naked eye it looks quite nice, with a number of plated elements that pop visua...
the movement has a lot of interest
By: ei8htohms : May 29th, 2012-18:38
I'm just a solid case back kinda guy in general. It's gotta be something pretty special to make me want to see it through the back. _john
Wow, the quality of your photos!!!!
By: RJW : May 25th, 2012-21:27
These photos belong on the Habrings website. Thank you for the time and effort to produce these. Congratulations again. Regards, Richard.
Thank you, Richard!

Very enjoyable for me to take these, and it brings me real pleasure that you enjoyed them. I did receive a nice note from Maria, so I know that they have seen the photos -- I have no expectations that they will adopt any of them for use, to be sure! Best,...
A brand I don't know much about
By: Mark in Paris : May 26th, 2012-02:37
but your pictures make me want to look at it closer ! Thanks for the very nice pictures Best, Mark
Worth learning more, I think!
By: Gary G : May 29th, 2012-06:16
Thanks for your kind post, Mark! I do think that the Habring watches are clean, well executed, and provide good value for money. One could say many worse things about a watch! Best, Gary G
Thanks, Vte. The movement
By: Gary G : May 29th, 2012-06:17
...is interesting indeed, as it violated many of the established principles of rattrapante design to give many more people access to that particular complication. A fun watch for me to wear, to be sure! Best, Gary G
congrats!
By: playtime : May 26th, 2012-10:05
a winning dial and color scheme! and a classic complication that is a hallmark of the Habrings many congrats again! Jason
Appreciate it, Jason
By: Gary G : May 29th, 2012-06:21
The blue dial is really pretty, and dark enough that it isn't jarring. To be safe, I will probably buy a grey dial/strap set as a backup, just to have the option to choose later. Best, Gary G
Congratulations on H2 DC..

..A watch and especially with that blue dial I have also fallen in love with myself Looking forward to more pictures Best Hans
Thank you, Hans
By: Gary G : May 29th, 2012-06:22
That blue dial really is hypnotic! I do love the Habring dials, and this one is no exception. Best, Gary G
Thanks, Nicko

Great to have it on my wrist! Fits great, and a very clean presence on the wrist. Best, Gary
Thank you, Matto

We will see how the blue "ages" with me -- I've had a couple of blue-dialed watches in the past, but tired of them over time. I suspect this may be the exception to the rule! Best, Gary
beautiful pictures of an admirable watch
By: amerix : May 29th, 2012-10:28
Gary - you have really got it down! This is the difference between depth & feeling vs. crisp & contrasty. In some way it reminds me of a superior portrait lens, an old Leica Summicron f:50 mm connected to an M3 or whatever bayonette its followers could ta...
Thank you so much for this fascinating commentary!
By: Gary G : May 31st, 2012-01:38
I have now read it over several times, and continue to learn from it. I would love to hear more of your commentary on distinctions of technique and equipment -- I have a great deal to learn! All the best, Gary
Greetings from your brother!

I have been wearing mine basically non stop for the past 2 or so weeks. Absolutely love it, the blue is even more incredible in person. I just put on a new strap...take a look! Jon...
Fantastic, Jon!
By: Gary G : May 31st, 2012-01:40
The watch looks great on you, and that strap is striking indeed -- puts me in mind of our own Andrew L. and his orange obsession, to be sure! Thanks very much for posting this -- now we know where at least 10 percent of the world's production will be toni...
Really works well
By: SethRL : May 31st, 2012-13:14
I return again and again in my small collection to my blue dialed Habring2. Now that I've seen the new design of the dial (with the numbers within a circle), I'm tempted to add and the Dopplechronograph would be interesting. Speaking as a NY Yankees fan, ...
My strong suspicion
By: Gary G : June 5th, 2012-19:26
...is that Richard and Maria would remove the offending orange bits upon request! Thanks for your kind note, Seth. Best, Gary

Gary - Thanks so much for your post. Since I saw one of these at the GTG in Los Angeles last weekend, I cannot get it out of my mind. In particular, the Habring Foudroyante. I have pretty much decided this will be my next watch. Going to take a very close...
Just Ordered...
By: elliot55 : June 6th, 2012-17:08
... my new piece. Foudroyante with silver rhodiated dial and all the hands in black, black leather strap with white piping. This marks my voyage into the AHCI world, and I couldn't be more excited! - Scott
Excellent!

I think you will find that the indies are addictive -- and the Habrings are great people to start with! Will look forward to further reports. Best, Gary
