15202 Special Dial

 By: dwin888 : March 2nd, 2016-22:23
Hi guys, I've recently purchased a brand new 15202 with a special dial - short history here: There was an incident apparently over at AP when the original owner had his previous jumbo serviced. AP then replaced his jumbo however, they couldn't find the ex...

That is unique!

Never seen such a dial on a 15202! Looks like a hybrid between 15300 and 15202.

Movement Pic

Based on my research I think the dial is based on the 14802? Here is the movement pic ...

Also, can someone confirm the rotor corresponds to the H series?

My Jubilee is na H series, and sports the new rotor, with the case number only a few hunderds higher than that shown here... but both rotor versions could actually bear the H series.

That is actually special and the dial is hobnail I love it

Great catch

I will keep the authenticated paperwork from AP service...

 By: redcorals : March 3rd, 2016-06:32
...to me it is after-market/refurbished and unoriginal. Rare and special wud have to be Original at the least. The watch is 15202 from the looks of the movement so I would have pressed AP to give me an original 15202 dial rather than refurbished 14802 if ...

No message body

Its Original

The watch is new and not repaired or replaced with whatever. The entire watch was replaced by AP with this new piece.

Original

The watch is new and not repaired or replaced with whatever. The entire watch was replaced by AP with this new piece. The indices and markers have a uniform glow.

Hmmm

 By: FinnishFlash : March 3rd, 2016-14:23
Is it really "rare". It is just a watch with a wrong model's dial. If I put Omega Seamaster's dial to my Royal Oak, does it make my watch rare? If you like it, enjoy it. But don't be dissapointed, if this "rarity" do not increase the value of the watch.

Not replaced

 By: dwin888 : March 3rd, 2016-18:28
The watch is new, it wasn't serviced or anything. AP sent a new piece like this. It isn't like those Daytonas where they replace dial and stuff.

I would ask AP for a confirmation letter in writing

To ensure what they have done, otherwise, this watch is a worry to me...

Its legit

 By: dwin888 : March 3rd, 2016-18:27
The watch is brand new - they replaced it. AP Singapore was the one who handled the service of the old watch. So this one is a brand new piece with all papers and documentations intact. I'm just asking if there are anyone here who can help assist with AP ...

I agree with you but let's face the truth, many people are thinking : when Rolex make wrong dials it is a wonder , when AP make wrong dial it is a shame, need to worry. I disagree and you have an interesting 15202 My 2 cents

Your biggest problem is what nickname to create for it!

 By: Tony-GB : March 4th, 2016-02:27
I must admit, I'm a little confused with this post. It looks like the previous 15202 model judging by the rotor and it appears AP cannot replace the old style dials, so have this peculiar new version. Have I understood properly...? Thanks Tony

The onus of describing this incident is on you…like I said keep the corroborating papers

 By: redcorals : March 4th, 2016-05:32
You yourself wrote ‘incident during service’ ‘replaced’….AP Service Center don’t keep new 15202 in stock however, they can concoct something from replacement parts to fix their errors. They didn’t lose the watch they lost the dial which they concocted and...

Agreed

 By: dwin888 : March 5th, 2016-04:32
All the information is from the previous owner. I know it is legit as the guy is quite a collector. And the local AP distributor here is the one that handled the issues. Apparently, AP Singapore got robbed last year and 6 watches from the Philippines got ...
