After the passing of Peter Baumberger last year, the future of UJS was up in the air. But I have good news for followers of the brand, UJS will show its new Detent Chronometer UJS-08 at Baselworld. Begun while Mr Baumberger was still alive, the movement is conceived by Jean-Francois Mojon and Kari Voutilainen for UJS; Voutilainen and Mojon remain with UJS and the new owner is Dr Helmut Crott, the German watch auctioneer.

I am so glad to see this brand continue production - the loss of Mr. Baumberger was tragic. This new model - the Voutilainen influence extends to the case: those beautiful, sensuous lugs!

Those lugs have been in UJS 'DNA' since the inception of the brand...

here is an example of 1982: (taken from the UJS website) Lovely, isn't it? I am really excited to see this brand continue with a very consistent vision! Best, Magnus...

An astute observation. [nt]

...and the sunray finishing on the movement is to die for. A gorgeous piece with an inventive escapement! Very glad that this one will see commercial production. Best, Gary G

Good news.
