BaselWorld 2015 - The Eleta/Jenni Timeburner

The Timeburner is a common production of the two AHCI members Miki Eleta and Marc Jenni.
The idea is from Miki, the execution from Marc.
Watchmakers in general love all things mechanical, such as a beautiful gearbox or motorcycle, and Miki and Marc are no exception.
The Eleta/Jenni watch is a powerful statement.
Minutes on the piston, hours in the crankcase.
The license plate on the back ready for its owners info (or remembrances?)
A smoking new watch.

I just wonder how the Evening Birthday Event went with the Hells Angles as special invited (!) guests. This is a bike club that is outlawed in many countries for criminal offenses. Do they represent the spirit of independence and so-called freedom? The wa...

"Do they represent the spirit of independence and so-called freedom?" judge yourself!

I arrived late (well, in time for the official celebration, but what is official with the Hell's Angels?) but still wa a le to snap that pic: I saw that the handsome guy second from left triad an Antoine Prezioso watch with a >60mm diameter and comment...

Wow!

I wouldn't mess around with her either ...

This may seem petty...

...but from these photos it would appear that neither of the watches is keeping time: the piston ring does not line up with a numerical position that would reflect the elapsed time on the hours disc. Is that so? It also seems that there are three watches ...

The black watch is well aligned, the white one needs adjustment...

perhaps - final assembly took place on the train to Basel (would not be the only one ;-))? The skeleton version is Miki's prototype, with all its imperfect charm: Cheers, Magnus ...

Thanks for that, Magnus...

...and thank you especially for the photograph of the prototype. You are a master of catching the very genesis of these Indie masterpieces: one of your shots of Oeschlin's prototype MIH is a great personal favourite. Cheers, pplater.

This is very cool and different....

Overall a nice effort on the part of these 2 independent watchmakers. Personally I would have preferred a running small seconds of some sort as the watch suggests motion and activity, but there will be little of it when viewing the timepiece. Having said ...
