Any Ochs and Junior images out there from owners?

By: Ancienne Le Brassus : February 6th, 2015-01:37
With the wristscan theme... It got me wondering if anybody has any live pix of their favorite dial color expressed by this company. I love their design and the flexibility of their compositions... really as time goes by I'm more into their designs. hopefu...

They are getting more special/eclectic/beautiful/...

 By: small-luxury-world : February 6th, 2015-02:41
but whenever I was close to order mine, something went wrong :-( Sometimes I couldn´t decide, sometimes it was the strong sfr, sometimes I simple lost the track because of sooooo many novelties I saw, sometimes I heard about new evolutions/executions/size...

Wonderful images!! Thanks for the great response! I also just love their watches!

I'd like to hear from somebody who's used one for a while... how the ownership experience evolves. I'm used to watches with lots of play in their dial (i.e. a certain luminosity to dials, or refractive surfaces). and these are more minimalistic pieces... ...

Here you go from last year's visit with Beat in Lucerne.

On the left is the original Anno Cinquanta from 2008, made in a series of 30 pieces, it featured Paul Gerber's inhouse double barrelled Caliber 41 powering it. The Moon Phase model center and the Annual Calendar upper right. The current production of the ...

Fully agree and you forgot...

Just came across your post, somehow i have never really been looking at the independents forum. I fully agree with your statement on the people and the service you get by Beat himself. You just forgot one thing: the espresso is outstanding ! Stefan

Yes, the Settimana Junior

 By: cazalea : February 7th, 2015-07:02
" The settimana junior sports a seven-day calendar featuring the characteristic orange dot. Its seven apertures are arranged in such a way as to line up with the hour digits 1 to 7. The settimana junior is Ludwig Oechslin’s concept for children – or for a...

Strap?

 By: indiehop : June 10th, 2016-12:35
Hi! What kind of strap is this? It is a very unexpected yet beautiful match for the watch both in material and color and texture.

It's a Swatch strap

 By: cazalea : June 10th, 2016-16:47
Stretchy fabric with nylon buckle - I agree it looks perfect. I stole it off my $70 Swatch and put it here.

Cool!

 By: indiehop : August 4th, 2016-00:11
I wil start with the standard rubber straps for both the Settimana and the MIH But this looks like a very nice match for the watches too.

Would love to find a Settimana Junior

 By: indiehop : June 10th, 2016-23:59
The watch looks so playfully perfect and so many adjectives come to my mind. Wish I could find one

The wait begins...

 By: indiehop : July 8th, 2016-09:24
Now after almost two years of contemplating on getting a new watch, I decided to get a baby Junior. Sometime in August it will arrive!

Junior!

 By: indiehop : July 11th, 2016-12:54
Thank you. It will be a standard Settimana Junior Love the design of it, the size of the numbers and the different colors of the metal and dial etc. Have not seen it in real life, and so it is a matter of hoping it will live up to my idea of what it is Wi...

By: Ancienne Le Brassus : February 7th, 2015-04:34
I love the concept, it woudl be great to get a chance to see it live.... I'm sure it's very subtle, but helps know the watch is there lving on the wrist! Beauty!! S

It is a privilege...

...to be the current custodian of this one: ...but in the perfect world this would be its stablemate (perhaps with the indices simply etched, not filled): [picture from O&J website] The O&J range represents the pared-back epitome of Independent ...

We think alike on the 'stablemate' ;) And yours is great one!!

Super cool... Extra stealth... extra extra stealth!! Thanks for sharing your pieces! I'm loving this brand more and more, HAGWE, S :)

lovely watch although I keep it on a winder because it takes a while to set it (in this sense it is similar to the MIH watch) Best Andreas ...

happy ochs und junior owner

 By: cj.cooper : February 8th, 2015-17:25
I'm a fairly recent owner of the 'inverse' of Ancienne's Annual Calendar - so mine has a patinated brass dial and seconds disk, with brass minute and hour hands with milled out indices and date dots (milling off the patinated surface reveals the bright br...

GREAT rig shot!!!...

 By: pplater : February 8th, 2015-18:30
Surely the only Independent ever seen at work on an oil rig! Cheers, pplater.

Love 'em . . .

Had a few in the past, now just the patinated Moon Phase in sterling silver, nicely tarnished . . . ...

Nice, very nice and if you dont´t mind I would like to ask ...

 By: small-luxury-world : February 25th, 2015-02:03
if you (in some cases) just changed parts or the whole watch. Thanks a lot for sharing! Oliver

Thx Oliver!

 By: drhr : February 25th, 2015-22:21
Yes, the Annual Calendar started out originally with the blue dial. I had Beat change to the green dial after awhile. And then a bit later actually had him put on another lighter blue dial (which I did not show) before selling the watch. Both the blue Moo...

Thank you!

 By: drhr : February 26th, 2015-08:42
Yes, Beat fitted the patinated Moon Phase with both sturgeon and their regular strap. The sturgeon is very substantial with a unique look. It originally was quite stiff and though has loosened up quite a bit with wear, may be just a touch too inflexible f...

love'm all!! could you say something of how the silver ages?

By: Ancienne Le Brassus : March 5th, 2015-00:56
How foes it get patina and maybe if you have a sec show us some pix of what happens? Wonderful watches!!! Really great to see the pix!!! They show how versatile this watch is!!! Thanks for sharing!!! S

Sure . .

 By: drhr : March 5th, 2015-17:57
Not everyone will agree of course, but the tarnishing adds to the character of the watch in my opinion. Here are 2 pics of the watch when I received it and 3 that in its current dull grey glory . . . ...

Personally - I love it!

By: Ancienne Le Brassus : March 7th, 2015-03:51
Thanks for the contrast pix. I think it looks super cool. I don't know about others, but to me it looks even more hand made, more like somebody put some care in it. even if it's a CNC milled piece ;) but it gives it some character I like! Very nice pix an...

follow up pics

 By: cj.cooper : March 4th, 2015-02:28
Some more pics, as i'm now back home in Bangkok. The sturgeon strap is excellent - it is indeed much stiffer and more substantial than 'usual'. Think of it as an English boot leather rather than a soft glove leather (! bit of an understatement ! ), initia...

Thanks for sharing your wonderful piece with us here!! The caseback looks killer!!!! Is this your daily beater watch? And I take it you wear it out also while on the rig yes? So cool!!!!! Your pics make me want to sell off a couple of my dormant watches a...

on my computer and even when they are not new, some of you may like them. Hopefully :-) When I was working on the picture, my son came home and straight to my desk. He saw the "green version" and said: Simple & super cool, but probably too expensive f...

Ochs

 By: cj.cooper : March 8th, 2015-08:11
In answer to Ancienne... Yes, my ochs is worn daily - I don't really want watches for collecting but for wearing and using... Says the man who does now need to sell some 'spare' Venturas which i couldn't resist, oops. The plan is/was to wear my Ventura V-...

I admire O and J a lot

 By: Mostel : July 31st, 2016-15:25
and Beat is a great, great person. In the end, these watches may suffer from dial design that is just too odd for my taste. Hard to read, non intuitive. And I have mentioned in the past that the extreme simplicity of the movement, in a way, is TOO simple....

Dear Mostel...

 By: matto1 : July 31st, 2016-18:30
I agree that the dial functions looked difficult to read, but after owning/ wearing both the moon phase and perpetual o&j watches became very easy and intuitive to read (especially the perpetual calendar). The new perpetual movement, with Ludwig's love, i...

Bravo!

 By: Mostel : August 2nd, 2016-17:44
I think you can detect from my post that I feel great admiration and interest in O and J. I LOOOOOVE that case! I was going to actually order mine in silver! I like the 'imperfect' DNA of these watches... I like the visually verifiable hand-made look and ...

Absolutely agree

 By: matto1 : August 2nd, 2016-19:16
The silver case has a great soft warmth and substance to it and is starting to patina/grey a bit on the sides and around the crown. A couple of non-watch geek friends have said there's something on your new watch. I just smile in quiet satisfaction. You r...
