You are correct that more than one region has been guessed in this thread.
Here's a hint that I suspect will ultimately give away the secret - if I told you which guess as to region was the correct one, it is highly likely you would be able to zero in on the watchmaker in fairly short order.

due to the winding wheel with typical double solar finish ("Glashütter Sonnenschliff"). My first guess was Dornblüth, but may be it is from Dresden - Lang & Heyne or from Marcos father Rolf Lang?
