All exterior damascus steel is stainless, so there will be absolutely no corrosion there.
The damascus steel parts for the dial and movement are made from high quality Swedish tool steels, which makes them less inclined to develop corrosion than some other damascus steel in the first place. The surface treatments, e.g. polishing, etching and tempered coloring that we apply for esthical purposes also acts as an effective corrosion seal. Johan Gustafsson's tempered coloring method is a very powerful method to prevent corrosion, which any of Johan's knife collecting customers can testify.
The watch case itself is specified for 10ATM with a double gasket crown to further eliminate any risk for corrosion. This ensures that the damascus steel parts and the other "normal" movement parts in steel (e.g. the winding mechanism) are not exposed to moisture.
The first GoS movement prototype is soon 3 years old and has been kept in a normal plastic movement container and travelled with me to several shows and customer visits worldwide. It shows no signs of corrosion whatsoever, even though it has not been kept within a sealed case. This makes me fully confident that any risk of corrosion is negligible and we therefore extend the guarantee for corrosion issues to 10 years.
