A rather fetching timepiece....

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-07:21
Some years ago, too many by far, I had a significant anniversary approaching on the the ever accelerating taboggan ride to that final red light on the highway of life. So the big question was not: Why are we here? What does it all mean? Have I led a good ...

That's one

 By: Warrenjared1 : September 28th, 2015-07:30
Of the most beautiful timepieces I have ever seen! Great choice. Wear it with good health.

Thank you,,but [nt]

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-08:13

Thank you,,but

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-08:16
it's not really my doing. I'm just a punter with his own priorities,,,,the guy with the talent, imagination and guts to see it through is Aaron himself. A nicer guy you could not hope to meet,,,if you'll excuse the double negative.

Posts (and watches!) like this are the epitome of watch collecting...

 By: Ornatus-Mundi : September 28th, 2015-07:39
and there is little I can add - your thought process, your choice, the execution - can it get any better? Very, very well done all involved. Individual artists like Aaron are the icing on our horological cake. Could you share a bit more on the technical d...

Yes, almost impossible until...

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-23:59
I hit on the idea (I'm sure not original) to have the watch vertical and not flat, face up. This reduced the reflections dramatically and made it physically much easier to handle the camera on it's tripod. Fuji XM1 and 35mm prime lens. Kind regards Antony...

Re Fuji X M1

I forgot to mention that it has very easy to use in camera cropping,,,,works a treat! Antony

Obstacles......many and manyier (if you get my meaning)

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-08:26
This was Aaron's first real production watch so, not surprisingly, there were many setbacks, and nitty gritty problems. From the point of view of a big brand collector they probably would have been intolerable. But to me, in search of a human (and therefo...

The nicest Bexei IMHO

 By: KMII : September 28th, 2015-07:46
While there is no doubting the artistry or artisanal quality of the brand and its maker, I found most other pieces somewhat too elaborate for my taste - if that makes sense. This one is really fabulous, though. The dial, case and movement all display an u...

Taste.....

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-08:29
One man's meat is another mans poison....perhaps the raison d'etre of an artisan watchmaker is helping their client realise their dreams. I must admit to some of my dreams being weirder than weird. But I get your point.

I mean the rest are real works of art

 By: KMII : September 29th, 2015-08:00
But I would find fewer occasions where I would feel it is appropriate to wear them; this particular one looks much more versatile, that is all...

Art or Artisan?

 By: ant : September 29th, 2015-08:20
I cannot help but feel there is a significant distinction between the two and that the vast majority of watch designs are Artisan rather than artistic creations. I would be most interested to hear your view. ATB Antony

OK, let's see

 By: KMII : September 29th, 2015-08:24
English is not exactly my native language, so the finer points of semantics elude me But would definitely say that Aaron (if I remember the name right) is both - there are many watches, which one could claim come from a real artisan; his creations definit...

Thanks, very interesting...

 By: ant : September 29th, 2015-08:30
so what I think you are saying is that Aaron, and doubtless a few others, are Artisans with an artistic vision.....probably dead right. Kind regards, Antony

It certainly takes more than artistry alone

 By: KMII : September 29th, 2015-11:19
Given that pretty much everything needs to be conceived, and made, too

Nice and unique, big congrats, Ant!

 By: Speedie74 aka Mr. Torquise : September 28th, 2015-14:03
Now I am proud, that I am hungarian.. Cheers, Adam

And these amazing guys?

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-14:34
Bela Bartok, Andre Kertesz, Peter Frankl, Antal Dorati, Geoge Szell, Georg Solti, Joseph Joachim, Franz Liszt and an almost endless list of genius artists, musicians and probably legions more in areas where I am totally ignorant. What an amazing country,,...

Many thanks mentioning these persons, Ant!

 By: Speedie74 aka Mr. Torquise : September 28th, 2015-23:46
Yes, there are much more famous person from other fields as well, but your knowledge is quite good enough, especially in the field of classical music.. Backt to topic: What kind of base movement has your Bexei? Yours, Adam

There is no 'base' [nt]

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-23:54

There is no 'base'

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-23:55
The design is entirely Aaron's,,,,so you might say the base is his brain! All the best Adam Antony

It means,

 By: Speedie74 aka Mr. Torquise : September 29th, 2015-00:09
that the movement is totally in-house, even the hairsprings etc.? How does look like the complete package ( Box, papers etc.)? Did you get the watch personally in Budapest? Yours, Adam

Yes, totally [nt]

 By: ant : September 29th, 2015-00:32

Congratulations!

 By: jmpTT : September 28th, 2015-14:45
I prefer your custom piece to what I've seen on Becsei's website - it's relatively restrained and cool. The overall craftsmanship (dial, case, movement) is outstanding. The logo on the dial is the only element that I'm not fond of, honestly.

Personally, I agree with you

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-23:04
but I would say that wouldn't I? However the skill and craftmanship Aaron displays in those 'specialist' designs is incredible. ) Antony

Absolutely Gorgeous!

 By: SALMANPK : September 28th, 2015-18:57
I love the hand made finish to the piece and it looks great on your wrist. Wear it in health S

Thank you but....

 By: ant : September 28th, 2015-23:01
I'm only the punter,,,not the creator. But I do love it!! Antony

Were the hands designed by Aaron or specified by your kind self?

 By: SALMANPK : September 29th, 2015-05:13
I wonder what the inspiration was because they look wicked cool

Hands

 By: ant : September 29th, 2015-06:10
They were entirey designed by Aaron and are very different and beautiful ...

Huge congrats to you! Mine is saying "hiiii...."
