Can't be happier with this classic. So many years in my collection, but everytime I look at it, it still smiles as beautiful as day one when I got it

Reverso, or not to Reverso?

 By: Mr.Gatsby : September 30th, 2009-03:52
I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on a Reverso for a long time, but can't seem to convince myself hard enough. Funnily, I fall in and out of love with the look of the Reverso, but on the other hand, Seeing Pierce Brosnan (in the Thomas Crown Af...

I chose "not to Reverso" then eventually "to Reverso".

 By: Ruckdee : September 30th, 2009-04:19
It is often said at least in my domestic market that, if you are going to own only one JLC, make that a Reverso. I believe you are now convinced. Ruckdee...

Ruckdee, you're killing me!

 By: respo : September 30th, 2009-09:01
First the PloProf, and now these two JLC, among my favorite JLCs I might add. Stop it! LOL. You really have some nice watches. respo

Thanks, respo. I have only a few more. Please send me an e-mail at...

[Email address suppressed for privacy] and I will send you some pics. You should find them to your liking. Ruckdee

Wow Ruckdee

That is very nice. Is it in SS?

GREAT photo!

Well, Mr Gatsby

 By: amanico : September 30th, 2009-04:32
" Iconic " is a too often over rated word, but in this case, it is not. To me, the Reverso doesn't only belong to the JLC History, but also to the whole horological History. Like a RO jumbo, a Rolex Sub, a Patek Calatrava ( and a few other, of course ), i...

Something like that, Rick. :)

 By: amanico : September 30th, 2009-06:51

I agree with Nicolas

 By: ArthurSG : September 30th, 2009-08:52
The Reverso is indeed iconic as iconic goes. And for me, when I think JLC, reverson is top of mind. That said, their "normal" round watches likes the Duometre, 8 day perpetual squelette, hybris grande sonnerie, gyro perpetual are excellent pieces in their...

Well, it is what disturbs me a bit

 By: amanico : September 30th, 2009-11:24
To see and say that The Reverso is an Iconic watch " eclipses " ( sorry for the bad pun ) the great round cases of he modern and Vintage watches, and, as you mentioned, they are a lot to be interesting and passionating. But this is a fact that the Reverso...

That is just so unfair, Nicolas!

 By: respo : September 30th, 2009-06:37
A veritable parade of some of the best Reversos.

Nicolas, How can one not sway by such a post?

 By: W72 : September 30th, 2009-08:41
You are indeed a great and wonderful resource for JLC. I am convince Mr. Gatsby will have one reverso soon. /W72

That's easy, I posted several monsters

I like no. 4, 5, 7 and 8. The Eclipse is such a stunner, I am enchanted, Nicolas. Art and watches are a good mix, but I prefer the cheekier paintings :P

You have good taste, Gabriel

As we speak about Art and Horology, here is a very rare specimen...Judt for your Adult Eyes: .... .... .... Seriously, there are so many enchanting ones.... Best, my friend. Nicolas...

In front of such beautiful moderns, the Vintage Reversos don't have to be ashame, indeed. They are so pure. Best, my friend. Nicolas

100% agree ! [nt]

Any wrist shots? : ) Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece with me. I am inclined towards the Reverso Eclipse, but I believe they are hard to attain. The sun moon Reverso in PG looks quite good to me for now

Here you are

It was at the Paris Boutique and it has gone to another house, sadly... To find another one will be hard...Only 35 pieces... Best, Art. Nicolas

Thomas Crown, Bruce Wayne, and Jay Gatsby...

 By: patrick_y : September 30th, 2009-12:08
...all would wear a Reverso. Mr.Gatsby, you must acquire a Reverso; either a Reverso Duo in pink gold (similar to the one in the Thomas Crown Affair)! Another alternative would be the Grande Reverso GMT. I have been a fan of Jaeger-leCoultre for many year...

Patrick I like what you just wrote

 By: nikolaj : September 30th, 2009-12:28
I guess that I have always been attracted to the Reversos. At least until I tried one on the wrist. For many years I couldn't see myself wearing a rectangular watch and so I stayed to admiring these marvels in windows or on someone elses arm. Recently I s...

Always a pleasure to see this jewel! Best, Nicolas

Thanks Nicolas. Just a small contribution to your post...

 By: nikolaj : September 30th, 2009-22:46
As you mentioned this model without a picture. I must admit that the chrono may be better off in a seperate post as the competition in your beauty contest is FIERCE my friend!! All the best

Hey, Nikolaj

 By: amanico : September 30th, 2009-22:53
While thinking about this GORGEOUS RG Reverso Chrono, I was hoping that YOU would post yours.... It is, of course, another great Reverso to catch, as a first one, like you did! And it is really worth attending the competition! Thanks for having posted it....

Oh, Nicolaj, I knew you'd show up...

 By: respo : September 30th, 2009-19:05
with that beauty, my friend. Aren't you tired of it yet and wanting to send it to another home? LOL. Really, this was your first Reverso, your first rectangular watch? What a way to begin! Always good to see you and your Retrograde, respo

Not quite ready for that yet Respo... ;-)

 By: nikolaj : September 30th, 2009-21:59
but thank you for your nice words (I think I alread told you that this reverso was actually yellow gold once but it turned rose from blushing with your appraising words ) It is indeed my first rectangular. I still find it rather sophistcated - but when yo...

one of my ractangular favourites...

 By: foowy : September 30th, 2009-22:35
this piece IMO is AWESOME, like Dr Jackel and Mr Hyde; completely different personalities on both sides in one body. Just one function on each side. The simple classic front and and the chronograph on the back which is just beautiful.

Like a lady wearing...

beautiful underwear - and nothing else - under a cottoncoat !? This contrast was what I really fell for in this watch. Thanks for the kind words! Nikolaj

Squadras are oddly missing...

 By: respo : September 30th, 2009-19:19
It saddens me a little that the Squadras are so often left out of these Reverso threads. I wish I had one to post a picture of...perhaps someday. I am ready to see what JLC has in store for the next generation of the Squadra. I am surprised The Fipper has...

True, Respo

 By: amanico : September 30th, 2009-22:11
I hesitated to post pics of some Squadras...And particularly one, the World Time. Well, I believe that when we think Reverso, we don't already think " Squadra ". It will certainly come. Best, my friend. Nicolas
