Seen today at my local watch drug dealer, one of the very rare Omega Mysterious Ultrathins. Made in 1982 in a very limited quantity. 2.6mm thick, quartz in an 18k gold case. So thin that you need an experienced watchmaker just to replace the battery. What...  

Cool! I had it, but sold it as I decided at one point to sell all (the few) battery powered watches I owned.

I've never seen this in the metal but know of the model. The "mystery hands" are such a gorgeous complication. Thanks for sharing.

because the target that the watchmakers wanted to achieve. This was one thinnest watch in the world before the longines came in and take the crown at the time. Omega got different technical approach to makes it as thin as possible, but due to the traditio...

Check out those wheels... The caseback contains these delicate components thus why it's pretty tedious to change the battery. ...
