Independents: I think it's difficult to beat Kickstarter on this

Hi Ronald, Unless you have very deep pockets, it's quite difficult to start a watch brand (or any brand, in fact). You have to get public interest, you have to invest $$$$ to start producing watches (or any other gizmo), hoping that it will find customers. On Kickstarter, you only have to make a cou

Independents: The height is 11.5mm

Hi JTCL, I don't know where you got your 15mm thickness, but on the KS page, the watch is stated twice with a thickness of 11.5mm, which is quite common (unless you are used to thin watches).

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Superb watch

One scientist friend was telling me about the IWC Da Vinci, which has a chronograph with the perpetual Calendar. He was telling me that he was mesmerized by the fact that this watch could handle an incredible range of time, from the 1/4th of a second for the chronograph, to the second, the minute, t

Independents: Handless Minute repeater

In 2013, I had a small pocket watch minute repeater transformed into a wristwatch. I asked the watchemaker to remove the hands, to have this result : The handless minute repeater And in the Patek Philippe's book on the Repeaters, it's wriiten : And inside, there is this text (translated from French,

Girard Perregaux: There are also some "cheap" musical wristwatches

Don't remember which metal it was. But I think the way musical watches work makes it imposssible to have a loud volume, as the little "fingers" are so little, compared to the hammers and gongs of a repeater. Plus it's not striked, it's "springged" (??) Don't get me wrong. I love the musical watches.

Girard Perregaux: Christophe Claret also made one

Hello Amanico, I remember that Christophe Claret also made a true music box-watch, about 15 years ago. On his site : Never had the chance to listen to the Claret nor the UN, but I've listened at the GP. I was very disapointed by the very, very soft volume of the music box. I prefer the minute repea

Horological Meandering: Did found the videos

My bad. Your videos are on the Quartz page. I think the biggest problem is that it looks like it's not possible to quick change the date. You have to do the full planetary turns to change the date.

Horological Meandering: Still don't understand how you read the time

Hello Sheyko, All your CAD images show the different discs at the same position. So, it's difficult to figure out how it works. On your site, your have 10 pictures showing exactly the same postion of the platenary gears. I agree with the other comment that a 29 mm watch is way too small for modern s

Horological Meandering: And the videos ...

Patek : Favre-Leuba : Julien Dubois : Haas : Jaeger-LeCoultre : And the sound box : I noticed that some of the videos are "woobly". It looks like if Youtube applied a crappy post-effect.
