Pita at Basel 2009
Apr 13, 2009,12:00 PM
It was a great pleasure for me to meet Aniceto Pita at Basel. Because
we don't meet very often Spanish watchmakers and because his watches
have always something special: simple and clever at the same time. So I
would like with these pics to quickly browse some of his main
creations.
Carousel:
The latest watch, a sort
of "simple" Butterfly, I think that the idea of the movement displaying
the time by itself is nice.
Oceana:
Sol y
Luna, I love this one!
Minimal:
Thanks
a lot to Aniceto and to his son for the warm welcome
!

I really like the Carousel, and the "butterfly"-like watch and the sun/moon watch are also very nice. When I see pics of the sun/moon watch I can never quite figure out how to tell the time: in your post, is it 8:27am or so? Thanks, Marc.
Pita's work still has that "hand made/hand crafted" look to them

I hope that does not give off the wrong impression but I enjoy this...different than the more popular AHCI watchmakers with their "polished" timepieces. Technically they are extremely interesting, the crown-less design is something I think I can get used ...
the "butterfly" is very cool!

What is it called anyway? yet its hand made finishing plays quite a contrast after viewing MB&F THx for the reportS~
i think his watches are excellent and my kind of thing.

its the first time i've seen the butterfly and it looks really nice, delicate yet effective. i'm a huge fan of this kind of watch. who needs hands thanks for the review, my wishlist gets longer and longer. Graham
