Moser at BaselWorld 2010

Mar 21, 2010,11:15 AM

Moser's new product this year is the "Perpetual Moonphase".  Perpetual, not because it also includes a perpetual calendar, but because the moonphase indication is particularly accurate having a 1 day error only after more than 1000 years.  The small indication under the hands indicates AM/PM to allow accurate setting of the moonphase, it is not a month indicator as has been rumoured in some places.

Note the typically style "Moser" Geneva stripes in 2 widths.  The ring indication on the back is the power reserve, which is, hoever, not correctly mounted on the prototypes they had in Basel.  The red triangle will be over the engraved 7 ... 1 showing the days of power reserve.

Annother novelty at the BAsel fair is the Mayu Marrone with a chesnut colored dial.  This is available in both rose gold and white gold cases.

What a handsome watch!

The 12

Don, thanks for these images. The Perpetual Moonphase looks like a winner. The bezel looks quite tall in the pictures. Could you tell if it is taller than, say, a Perpetual 1? One other note. The 12 has changed on the Mayu. It looks bolder, and definitely...

I have an early w/g Mayu and the 12 is definately 'softer'. The new one's seem very 'sharp'. Not sure which I prefer. It seems that Moser are sharpening up their act generally LOL. Vernon

I've been a huge Moser fan...

...and vocal supporter on the forum, but I have to say that this moonphase is the first swing and miss from Moser IMO. I just don't care for the moonphase display or the impotent little AM/PM indicator, whose diminutive take on the gorgeous Moser leaf han...

Not sure about the moon phae but...

Not that it really matters since I was there yesterday but before heading backI looked for them at the Ramada and couldn't find any exhibition rooms.
