Heritage Watch Manufactory at the GTE 2011

Jan 21, 2011,10:03 AM

A new brand, showing here at the GTE for the first time, is the Heritage Watch Manufactory.  This brand which has been instigated by some German watch collectors has set up its shop in the heart of Swiss watchmaking country, Neuchâtel.  They are presenting two watches with 2 different calibers from Karsten Frässdorf, who was the genie behind the Fabrication De Montres Normandes.  Karsten has been off the screen for the last two years, as he says because of an intellectual property dispute with one of his former clients.  This dispute has been decided in his favor and he is now the technical brains behind the Heritage Watch Manufactory.
The case and dial designs of the Tensus and Magnus models were made by the well known watch designer Eric Giroud.  The caliber 880 incudes Karsten Frässdorfs famous 3 anchor, 2 escapement wheel constant force design.

Bringing us great pictures, and new fascinating information of these little wonders of micro-mechanics. Happy to finally see the front of these pieces, having seen several images of the calibers over the net. Looking forward to hearing more about them, as...

wow...any idea what is the MSRP? [nt]

... but it is great to witness the return of the 'aesthetic' of that movement. Brass plates would have been the icing on the cake. Cheers, pplater.

hmmmm

Movement is pretty (please let's not have all that excessive writing though)...

...but I dislike the dials, and hands. A missed opportunity for greatness IMO. Cheers, Daos

It would be great with less writing on the beautiful movement.

De Béthune and Panerai in general, the work on the caliber is amazing, and Giroud realise a dial design worthy of his work on the Opus 9... Love it, hope that they will have success.

happy relief

thank you somuch for this post. frasdorf's movements are some of the most beautiful and desirable, both @ brogsitter and fdmn and i was concerned and saddened that they might just go away when fdmn closed. this is very good news. thank you for all that yo...
