Launch of the HM3 MoonMachine in Singapore - initial shots and thoughts

May 02, 2012,15:38 PM

Official pictures will be posted at some stage, but I strangely tempted to post some intial shots and thoughts even at 5am in the morning here. I was initially skeptical, and even confused. I thought maybe its another exotic material and/or colour scheme change, like your usual PamRooBang fare, i should have known better . Once again, Max has outdone himself. Even his choice of partner...Stepan Sarpaneva, seems like an odd ball choice, very left field and seems only notable for his obsession with the moon. Again, i was pleasantly surprised and came to understand the choice of Sarpaneva, in many way the obssession with moon and northern skyline turned into a brilliant choice and execution. there is a significant amount of work done technically to incoorporate the moonphase and clearly a product of serious brainstorming. small things like the excellent finishing of the moonphase disc, and the quick date/moon change via a pusher provided. I am convinced that enough work has been done to distinguish and differentiate from the" regular joe, no frills edition!!"

for better pics, please see press release from SJX here - ahci.watchprosite.com

and for great wristshots, please see Fovesta here - ahci.watchprosite.com

seen below with my HM3, now jovially renamed HM3 No Frills smile-

A blur photo of Max expressinging himself vigourously. He was also voted "best looking watchmaker 2012" at the same dinner smile-

I wore my LM1 on my left wrist, seen here with my main

Wristshots from my fellow diners and MBF fans.

Max may be the best looking dude in the watch making world, but i have a better looking wrist smile-

the HM3 Brotherhood, also the most vocal lot at dinner, me included.

thanks for reading, God bless, I am turning in now, to be awake at 8am, shortly....and i think i will have problem sleeping.....

Best,

Horo

You need to comeback to Sabah to heal. So the date is gone on the HM3 Moon? Regards Tyler

Looks like a great watch but I really adore the Legacy Machine!

I had the LM since last December, and I still love it loads

Plus it's certainly a eye catcher and attention seeker. LM 2 is already in the works... Best, Horo

Is your friend still selling his? That seems like the least expensive way into MB&F world.

Day 2 of the MoonMachine launch in Singapore....dust settling

Max in intense explanation of his creation Wristshot....with a smile on the face...not the face on the watch, but mine Best, Horo...

Horo, Sarpaneva's moon looks too small for MoonMachine

 By: ling5hk : May 6th, 2012-16:59
Sarpaneva's moon displays its strong presence in K3. However, it has lost its appeal in MoonMachine. I would prefer a larger size moon on MoonMachine. Regards Ling

its actually quite balanced..

 By: Hororgasm : May 7th, 2012-14:12
bear in mind that MBF needs to balance Sarpaneva's moon and northern sky, and elements of the Frog and retaining the HM3 identity, and also the winding mechanism. thanks for chiming in your thoughts mate. best, Horo

Must have been a wonderful evening ...
