A special Ludovic Ballouard - Half Time version

Apr 09, 2014,06:35 AM

While looking at Ludovic's FB page I fell on this special Chinese numerals version.

These numbers are perfectly integrated to the dial (maybe better that the standard Roman numerals) but what I really like too is the Rg + white dial combo.

A candy for the eyes.

Cheers, Mark

I am not familiar with the Half Time watch but looking at the Chinese characters, I assume the inner ring rotates one notch counter clockwise and the outer ring one notch clockwise every hour. What a gorgeous complication. Can you post a picture of the re...

Here it is

Hi Dean, Here is a picture of the standard version. You guessed perfectly right, there are 2 rings, going in different directions. They meet at 12 o'clock to show the time. Plus a retrograde Minute hand. Cheers, Mark ...

Thanks Mark

I think I prefer the Chinese Half Time. Thanks for the pictures. I am a big admirer of the Upside Down, but didn't know about these. Dean

Hehe

Look closer, these numbers are normal. Only the number at 12 is aligned so all the other numbers are mismatched top and bottom. The inner disc rotates anti-clockwise and outer disc clockwise every hour.

Based on my knowledge of chinese characters, the inner ring should be moving clockwise to display the bottom half of the chinese character for seven next; whilst the outer ring moves counter-clockwise. I have the upside down and absolutely love it....howe...

Firstly great choice on the Upside Down. Can never tire of seeing the fascinating movement. And yes, you are right. Cheers Dean This message has been edited by Spellbound on 2014-04-09 20:29:26

This is not appealing to me.

When the Chinese numerals are not aligned, they appear as wrong characters. With all due respect to good intention of innovation, it causes headache to me. Regard Ling

Even other market... if one dares :p

This is something I like also concerning Lange watches, the silver frosted dial is so perfect together with the RG. Cheers, Mark
