Believe it or not but De Bethune has a new ambassador!

Jun 22, 2014,13:19 PM

Wimbledon starts tomorrow, he is not very happy to play on grass but I think he doesn't care since he has just become a De Bethune ambassador: Gaël Monfils! A crazy player for unbelievable watches... why not?

I wish them a fruitful partnership!

Hope De Bethune builds him a watch to wear during matches. Good luck to both!

Interesting choice...

As I do not really see De Bethune as a sports watch. I assume the wizzkids at DB have not come up with a watch he can play with yet? Is this their first ambassador... Other of course than our very own Mo? ;) Cheers Andrew

Ha ha…too kind…...

Not happy Absolutely nothing against Gaël whatsoever I just hoped that DB wouldn't succumb to the Ambassador trend and as Andrew already said is there better one than our Mo Cheers D

Please no Ambassadors….let the watches talk….. DB watches are amongst the highest expression of traditional watchmaking for modern times…They don t need ambassadors, leave those to other brands please…. Mo

De Bethune a chance to put it all into context and perhaps explain to us in further detail... will we see a new innovative shock system in a specially design dream piece (it will not sit in any of the other collections) in the next year or so? I cannot im...

But the problem is...

 By: tom2517 : June 24th, 2014-00:47
Do we need it? Is De Bethune turning into another RM? Like I said below, De Bethune doesn't seem to sell well (at least not in Taiwan and China, AD in Taiwan are offering them close to half the MSRP because they are just sitting there), and seeing how wel...

Mmm, I like the guy...but not so sure about the choice

De Bethune is the kind of brand (Indy world) I like to see out of the common marketting world (even if it still uses some). Except finding THE ambassador I can't think of right now, the spirit of the brand in itself is its ambassador. Thanks for the news ...

Ambassadors & Brand Association

Never been a big fan of Ambassadors. Unless there is a natural passion and fit for the brand in which 'Mo' would be a perfect candidate. I am however very curious as to whether the De Bethune Triple pare-chute shock -absorbing system will hold up on the c...

Triple parachute shock system...

It only makes sense that De Bethune are testing this on the court to develop further a special innovative limited piece with lightness and shock absorbing system in mind? 190km/h is going to do some damage!

Oh no

De Bethune is one of my favorite brand and I seriously don't like this idea.....

I hate the De Bethune being on court too...

 By: cory : June 23rd, 2014-19:52
So I question why... it seems to be to test the shock system!? The shock that they have an ambassador is what I am still trying to come to terms with ;)

Well....

De Bethune isn't an easy sell at ADs so I guess pressures are getting to the management, and seeing how well RM, Hublot, and APs are doing with athlete ambassadors, they can't help it but to take the plunge as well.

Good news: Gael Monfils won his first game in Wimbledon!

Still working after the game? Hehe.

Monfils didn't wear any watch during the match

 By: tom2517 : June 25th, 2014-04:19
Out of curiosity I went on to Getty's image to check latest photos on Monfils, he didn't wear any watch during the Wimbledon match, boohoo.
