r-watch - Romain Delafontaine

We have visited Romain Delafontaine before here.  He has experience as a watchmaker with many of the best names in the business, I will just mention AP, F.-P. Journe, Chronode and David Candaux.  Romain launched his own brand in 2011 with his brother François. R-watch's first watches came out in 2012 being declined around aviation themes as Romain is a passionate glider flier.

Romain's newest design is the "3 colours".  The colored indexes on the dial change every 24 hours.  I was pretty sceptical at first, but it is amazing how much the look of the watch changes just with different colored indexes.

Personally I find the difference in "karma" from the colors comes across the strongest on the model with the black dial.

The watches are all powered by rugged ETA 2824 movements, the models with an open back have well decorated movements and a 22 carat gold r-watch rotor.

In accordance with his family name Delafontaine, meaning "from the fountain" in French, Romain is a supporter of water projects around the world.  To this end he is making a limited edition 3 colour watch, the 3 colour UBIQUITY.  From the sales of this watch r-watch will donate 40% to the charity water.org which supports water and sanitation projects around the world.  The Ubiquity name refers to the fact that water should be available for everyone.

I have seen the mechanics for r-watches next model, here you can see it too.
What do you think this will be?

I like this concept! We all know that a little change can really transform a watch! Fx

I was just thinking about a way to change the color of hands

because in looking at some many watches the hands are invisible from many angles (for bad-eyed old guys) I know that there must be a way, and then we could put hand-changing onto the marker changing watch .... Mike

a way...

The toblerone can be for example a shape of hands and perhaps a system like the rotor of helicopters can be a way to move them ! But, not yet for us ;-) Thanks Don for the report ! Romain Delafontaine ...
