The Galet Traveler was introduced in Basel 2013 - I was immediately won over when I saw the released pictures. Functionally, the watch resembles the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Traveler 5164 in many ways, especially with the pushers at 8 and 10 o'clock, which moves back and advances the central hour hand respectively. This is hardly surprising, considering where founders of the brand came from.
The original press information describes the watch as a 'useful complication' and I whole-heartedly agree. The dual time function is easy to use, with the window at 9 o'clock depicting home time while the date (window at 3 o'clock) changes as soon as the hour hand passes midnight.
The movement (Calibre LF 230.01), which bears similarity to the micro-rotor model, is equipped with silicon anchor and escapement wheel in phosphorous nickel. The hand-beveling and hand-chamfering, resulting in sharp edges of the plate, make the finishing superb - thus giving justification for the 18-month wait.
I had initially wanted the yellow gold - blue dial version but changed my mind when I saw the white gold with beige/light brown strap.
Let the pictures do the talking.
I must add that these beautiful pictures and macros are courtesy of my friend Ashley, who publishes a watch magazine in Hong Kong - he wanted to take some photos of the LF Galet Traveler when he saw my lovely watch on Facebook.
BTW, the Galet traveler is my third watch from the same brand but if you ask me, I love them all. Here are some archive photos taken by my friend Ogygia:

Hope you enjoy these marvelous pictures.
