NEWS: Vogard sells its Prescher/Strehler-developed patents to IWC!

Dec 05, 2014,14:24 PM

Independent watch manufacturer Vogard announced that it sold all its patents to IWC in Schaffhausen. Amongst those were the really unique patents related to its signature dual timezone indication, developed by AHCI members Thomas Prescher and Andreas Strehler, which is operated by the crown and allows also the indication of daylight saving times.

Furthermore, Vogard terminates its operations with the exception of the after-sales service department, to be effective with the end of this year.

Vogard's owner Michael Vogt recalls that a small niche brand which in addition offers significant customisation options, is not in a position to utilise its IP to its full potential.

Let's see what IWC can dip!

Cheers,
Magnus
