This year Stepan Sarpaneva is showcasing his new Korona line. These watches are
distinguished by their intricate and engrossing dials. Here with a date
and closed dial.
Here with date and an open face to see the movement decoration behind.
The case of this model is black diamond coated.
Finally the moon phase version.
These are all automatic watches and the Korona theme continues to the automatic
rotor with white gold weight too.
Lastly Stepan showed me the prototype of last years Supernova. I was very
pleasantly surprised. From the photos I have seen I had imagined an
unwearable monster watch. In fact it is a very stunning
"normal" size watch. The case material is not the normal 316L
steel, but a machine steel that has a very different feel and color. The
feel is more direct, the surface hard, the edges very crisp. The color is
much bluer than 316L which looks almost orange in comparison when placed side
to side. The case with its interplay between polished out coves and brushed
outer surface really grabs you.
Lucky are those that got one of the 9 pieces of that limited edition.
