This high beat Lord Marvel from 1968

Dec 04, 2015,10:54 AM

I have wanted one of these for a long time. It needs a new crystal and a full service. Even without a service it was +5s over 24 hours.

I shall fix it as soon as I get the crystal, gaskets etc.

 Kind regards

 Aditya

WS of the weekend of Dec. 4 starts now - for the last month of the year.

 By: KIH : December 3rd, 2015-06:49
Although I am not sure which one will be my last acquisition this year, this is certainly one of the highlights of the year. SS Grand Seiko first - not officially documented (Seiko is really poor at keeping records), this is certified genuine Grand Seiko ...

What a great way to conclude (?) the year!

 By: TheMadDruid : December 3rd, 2015-08:46
Nice piece!

A new Seiko SARX029 came my way this year . . .

 By: Dr No : December 3rd, 2015-09:41
. . . around the same time as . . . . . . the apricot handle cue. Both are in this video. "What puts the 'ape' in apricot?" Other Class of '15 inductees will be posted later after fresh photos are taken. Art ...

Nice composition, Doc. [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : December 3rd, 2015-11:24

Beautiful watch dear Art! I feel I need a Seiko in my collection!! May be in 2016!...

 By: Subexplorer : December 4th, 2015-13:47
... beautiful cue to boot! Enjoy both in good health my friend!1 All the best Hagwe! Abel.

Made the same shot Thursday . . .

 By: Dr No : December 5th, 2015-10:01
. . . in more dramatic fashion, with just enough energy on the cue ball to sink the 8 after lapping the table on three banks! My favorite, though, is the one-bank kick on a ball . . . Escape from Alcatraz . . . frozen to a rail. That one drives opponents ...

Like the SARX029 more and more with every post

 By: KMII : December 4th, 2015-22:45
Has a very quiet but long lasting appeal IMHO. Cool pic, too

I'm not into limited editions generally . . .

 By: Dr No : December 5th, 2015-10:11
. . . but when they're restricted to the number of dials an urushi artisan can produce, and affordable (which is not the same as attainable!), how can one say 'no'? My only quibble is that it's a bit too large for aesthetic comfort. I wouldn't wear it wit...

One my hits of the year ...

 By: nilomis : December 3rd, 2015-10:19
My Speedmaster Gemini 4 commemorative. Limited, hard to find. I'm glad that the seller offered it to me. Hard to capture the blue tones of the dial. Photos from today's morning. The B&W side of this morning A wonderful weekend to all, Nilo ...

I never saw the blue dial before.

 By: TheMadDruid : December 3rd, 2015-11:24
Very cool.

A limited edition from 2005, commemorating . . .

 By: Dr No : December 7th, 2015-15:44
. . . the Gemini IV mission. One of the lesser known Speedmasters, and a personal favorite, too. Art

Wow, blue?

 By: KIH : December 3rd, 2015-20:25
A, very, very nice Speedy, indeed. Congrats! Nice one! Ken

Less ... much less ...

Not the latest but the frequent flier

 By: KMII : December 3rd, 2015-12:02

 By: KMII : December 4th, 2015-22:50
Given how all the pictures watches have it Lovely collection!

I was quite certain that was the case :)

Great that they\'re still being produced.

No, really? ;)

 By: KMII : December 5th, 2015-04:56
Sure - and a great collection of them you have, too!

Each time you add a vintage it really looks it is the result of a long maturation and research process

Such as the Geophysic, in service right now, your intuition is right, there may be a " new " watch before the end of this year. Next year will be the same problem. I fear I will have to save for 6 or 7 more watches to service. And so on... But I hope to b...

While German is my most frequently used language these days, it completely fails me in the \'ausschmücken\' type activity vocabulary The beauty of PuristSPro is that one learns about the most unplanned things

A couple of "Golden Oldies" I managed to acquire this year.

 By: TheMadDruid : December 3rd, 2015-13:36
They've gotten very little wrist time recently for reasons that have been the subject of numerous recent posts. But I am thrilled to have added these two. Hope everyone has a great weekend! ...

You have the "good old" Lange pieces....

Cannot go wrong with a combination like that! The Cabaret is slowly but surely becoming my favourite Lange.

Indeed, you have added very nice pieces to your colelction Padj this year

Good luck with your hunt!

Alas, both those numbers are gone....but maybe things are looking up

 By: MTF : December 5th, 2015-01:16
I never expected the usual Chinese 888 to be available; I did not ask for it because I'm not so fixated on numerology. I used to collect #4 of limited editions because it was the only number not popular in Singapore and Japan. I had less competition from ...

What a truly fabulous watch (both, really)! What great pieces Movado used to make Thanks for sharing!

The odd one out

 By: crown comfort : December 4th, 2015-00:54
One of my highlights from 2015 was the GP Laureato from 1975. Why this one? It's a Quartz, how can I? But it's 1975 and in this time it was state-of-the-art. It has a "Chronometer" spec and boy it keeps time. On the second for weeks and weeks. It has a br...

IMO.... You hit the jackpot!

 By: KIH : December 4th, 2015-02:35
Another Genta here. Very rare to see, almost impossible to locate one! Ken

Excellent find!

By: blomman Mr Blue : December 4th, 2015-06:34
I will try to hold off until I find the correct mechanical one... But if that fails - this quartz is a very good option! Best Blomman

Good plan

 By: crown comfort : December 4th, 2015-06:37
but I believe the Quartz with all steel and this grey/blue dial is even harder to find than the 8010

So I will have to wait until I find the right mechanical one....! ;)

By: blomman Mr Blue : December 4th, 2015-06:43
Not sure if 8010 is the most prioritized here... As you know I am currently working a couple of other themes...! Best Blomman

Another watch for London :)

 By: KMII : December 4th, 2015-23:18
I have been curious about these early quartz GPs. The precision you commented upon, how comfortable is the bracelet?

The bracelet is super-comfy

 By: crown comfort : December 5th, 2015-03:26
and with the old bracelets you can adjust the length at the clasp in small steps.

Do not hesitate

 By: crown comfort : December 5th, 2015-06:36
however, there are different dial and case versions. The blue/grey waffle dial with all steel case/bracelet is the one to get. There is also a flat, black dial in steel, which should be okay as well as the white waffle dial, but the gold/steel combos are ...

I would kindly ask for advice first :)

 By: KMII : December 5th, 2015-08:11
Thanks for the pointers, though! Let\'s see what next year brings!

Wow, bracelet Aquanaut!

What? You know the commercial secret?

 By: Luis6 : December 4th, 2015-05:51
Ok, to be honest, all I try to do is to get good lighting, right focus, steady hands, delete all the bad shots and save the good ones. It's just trial and error, which I enjoy a lot. Cheers, Luis.

I may be in the minority

 By: KMII : December 4th, 2015-23:23

1st and 2d generation. What can I say? Aah, yes, I know...

Two is too much. Big 22 is not a reference, Big 11 is. So I can help you solving that issue with taking one of these. Bravo, bravo, bravo. I am still on the hunt for mine... Which is a grail to me. Best, Nicolas

I always love your Longines collection.
