Dead Mark, Thanks you SO much

for your wonderful review of Voutilainen's production or the least ten years.
I am trying hard but canot really see anyone who can match him in terms of creativity, quality and variety, except perhaps J.P. Journe.
Kari's atelier is much smaller though and the output is reflecting that with maybe 250 pieces, not counting the "standard" Vingt-huit/ 28.
I just miss two watches from your review. The Observatoire, the watch that "made" Kari and that was a limited series due to the limited amount of Peseux 260 that Kari could source. It is after all the watch that made Kari known to the wider public and that got him his first Geneva prize. Afterall the Observatoire follows the same logic as the Chronometre 27 that makes it in your review... As you know some of the watches that you present us with are based on Voutilainen caliber 28 and should not be part of your review.
Another omission is the 28 RM, his reserve de marche. It is another limited edition based on his caliber 28 but with the addition of a very fine power reserve mechanism that make it very different from his caliber 28. That watch was also prized in Geneva, only more recently as it was last year.
Generally, apart from truly "pieces uniques" I would not pay too much attention to the number of pieces produced. Suffice to say that they are very limited. There are often quite a lot of variation between pieces within one limited series. It is almost as if every single watch is a piece unique. Sometimes pieces that are part of a series also get the label "piece unique" on Kari's delivery papers...
Thank you again for your very nice article.
