A platinum trio
Dec 11, 2007,01:02 AM
A gentleman who wishes to remain anonymous has kindly allowed me to share three of his watches with the forum. Each of these watches is platinum, but all are as different as night and day. The owner of these three watches has an astounding collection, and he has agreed to do an interview for ThePuristS, which will be posted soon.
What is notable about this gentleman collector is that not only does he wear ALL his wristwatches - none of his Pateks are sealed in the plastic bag - he even wears his pocket watches on occasion. He is also very fortunate that one of the pocket watches happens to be a Patek Philippe grande et petite sonnerie pocket watch from the early 20th century.
During the interview I had the chance to examine the Urwerk Black Shark at length and try it on. It is an Opus V on steroids - larger, heavier (and more expensive) than the Opus. Urwerk has certainly proven that it has not run out of ideas.

and kudos to the gentleman who's taste in watches in the three he has shared with us here showing the RANGE of his taste. They run the gamut of being conservative and perhaps subtle all the way up to the maximum sensory overload of the Urwerk. It will be ...
