Watch Collecting : Range

 By: Jay (Eire) : February 21st, 2024-13:40
We all know range can be quiet broad when it comes to watch collecting. It’s always interesting to see how much enjoyment can be had from very different watches, very different ends of the watchmaking spectrum. Anyone else wish to share a photo or photos ...

Yes, for sure that is true. For most collectors I know.

I don’t think it runs true for everyone we meet in our collecting world though.

Amen ...

I love your serious range. ;)

Which is the most important!

Agree on the Swatch, fun is the name of the game.

Whether it be these more recent higher profile collaborations or just plain old Swatches.

+1 😁

In all seriousness: the price does not matter, the mood and feeling of the watch, that is most important. From this to that In my case. ...

Thank you, dear Emil Wojcik.😇

18k it is not, just looks that way ! 😂

 By: Jay (Eire) : February 21st, 2024-18:15
You hit on a good point, mood and feeling. These two and the two you shared, they bring different feelings.

😂

Love this, and the colour.

 By: Jay (Eire) : February 21st, 2024-18:17
I have the Blue one, although I tend to favour the 5600 models so most of what I have is those.

Excellent.

Great idea, Jay! Quite a few of us appreciate the emotional value over the monetary value!

Mechanical pieces: I really don’t consider my Garmin as a watch. It’s a small computer on a wrist strap, which I only wear for running: ...

Superbly played!

And I’m there with you on the Garmin, mines all red versus your all white.

My collection is focused on…

 By: Ludi : February 22nd, 2024-19:25
… vintage military and vintage diver watches mainly. However, having some fun is not prohibited My wife feels the same way Life is better with plenty of colours, and it helps to remember this is a hobby ...

I’m afraid I forgot..

 By: Ludi : February 22nd, 2024-20:22

It is an interesting one. Range, that is a scale from 1 to something. Here is mine. Cheapest to expensive. 69 years between the 2. Both give me the same goosebumps. ...

Very cool.
