The date is instantaneous, even on 29 Feb/1 March. Exactly the question I asked of Herr Prescher.
The movement has quite a thick rotor, and then there's a lot of space between the dial and the crystal for the 5 hands. Hence the overall thickness.

all lovely watches. the tempusvivendi is a very nice piece
he does, however, seem to have gone over the top a bit on the plentiful themes. personally i like the Una for its simplicity. all the tourbillons are great of course, but no point lusting after what you cant have. best Graham
