Habring2 is my choice

Having, last week visited the AD, that specialises in small manufacturers including Nomos, Habring2, Glycine, MeisterSinger, Muhle Glashutte, Tutima Glashutte, Junghans and a few more. I was very pleasantly impressed with both Rob and his shop, which thou...

Warning - This is what not to do with a Habring2

I have several of Maria and Richards watches. I am surprised you could not get a date with a pilots watch. There are always cost trade-offs and maybe that is the reason, but normally you can get the Habrings to quote this. You want a picture - this is wha...

Thanks Dave for your input..........

I must admit that I too was surprised that the date was not an option on the pilots watch with black dial. As that would have been the perfect combination. I wish now that I had taken photos of both watches side by side, so they could be compared. But I t...

I think this is really a question of habits and convenience. Personally I like the feeling of taking care of my watch every morning when I put it on. I wipe it clean (which I probably should do in the evening when I take it of, but don't..) and wind it be...

Thanks Don............

I have emailed Maria & Richard asking for some additional information. While examining their watches, one thing that did surprise me, is that they did not place any sort of crest or design on their crown! Any ideas?

As a four time Habrinista, nice choice

Beyond the brand, the specific configuration may be harder to decide. For a calendar or watch with a date, automatic makes sense. Otherwise, I prefer manual wind since more of the works are open to view, including the dead seconds. I confess one of the re...

Seth, as a longtime fan of Richard & Maria's work I appreciate your input

Thank you. I understand what you are saying, once they arrived later on today, I can spend some quality time examining them side by side :) Your first photo is, I think, of the actual pilots watch and the middle watch of your three nicely shows off the bl...

Here are some photos of the two pieces

I would think that your decision would have to take into consideration what other watches you have in your collection. Both are really nice, but quite different from each other and fill different niches. Let us know how you choose! DJK

I have the old Chezard based Dead Seconds for couple of years, and still loving it

And I recommend that to fully enjoy a Habring, you should customize one...and it will remain meaningful to you for a long time. And you get to "experience" fully the joys of creating, and enjoying the flexibility of a true Indie. Good luck, and keep us po...

Possibly adding an inscription. The date, if it is possible would have selected dates, like family birthdays in a different colour. Another collector had this done on their watch, though to be fair it was only a single date. I have been in contact with Ma...
