Ken, wonderful interview
Sep 29, 2012,15:13 PM
Even though I have met Mr. Ferrier and Mr. Muller on a couple of occasions, I learned a lot about Mr. Ferrier and the entire brand in your condensed interview that I did not know. And it all seems good news. I have to add these are two wonderful gentlemen.
The watches are gorgeous (though to be candid, I was not too impressed with the level of finish on some of the early tourbillons), potentially long-term sought-after classics.
And what comes through for me in this interview is an approach of "purity" in watch conception as some mention, combined with a solid business model, the latter issue maybe the biggest challenge to independent horology. I like that these watches have a "Patek" classic influence in their design, and don't rely on radical (soon to be out-of-fashion) designs to attract attention. In fact they attract attention for all the right reasons, and add modern technology where it fits, but does not detract. I am reassured that Mr. Ferrier is intimately involved, but the brand is not completely dependent on him.
I do not own a LF timepiece so far, but could see one in my collection in the near future. Can't wait to see where they may land in offerings between the Gallet Classic Tourbillon and the Micro-rotor.
Thanks for this interview.
