Not if it is one of the lovely Dornblueth and sohn movements, a Lange, a Voutilainen, a Laurent Ferrier, a Romaine Gauthier, a De Bethune or a MB&F which are all beautifully decorated. However, there are some companies that make less of an effort at decorating their movements so their movements are better than they look like Jaeger, Panerai, Zenith and Rolex.
The above lists are non exhaustive of course!
