anyone can explain how come there is a red pointer while the rest are in dark color?

The arrow below "London" is not just red, it is also a bit larger then the other arrows. I believe it is to highlight the Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT). Also, it gives the dial a more contemporary appearance, quite in contrast to the very classic 5110. An... 

How about winter time adjustment ?
