This year Thomas Prescher is bringing out his new QP1 perpetual calendar.  This unique timepiece shows the time and date in concentric circles, all the indicators coming from the central axle.  The date change is instantanious at midnight.

1) By 'instantaneous', do you mean that the jump on 28th or 29th February is also instantaneous to 1st March? Or is it semi-instantaneous for the date and instantaneous for the day and month? 2) Does it have to be that thick? i.e. is there a lot of air sp...

The date is instantaneous, even on 29 Feb/1 March. Exactly the question I asked of Herr Prescher. The movement has quite a thick rotor, and then there's a lot of space between the dial and the crystal for the 5 hands. Hence the overall thickness. Cheers T...

he does, however, seem to have gone over the top a bit on the plentiful themes. personally i like the Una for its simplicity. all the tourbillons are great of course, but no point lusting after what you cant have. best Graham
