The WS for the 21st of May - ‘Favorite metal’ is live
May 21, 2021,12:43 PM
As written in the introductory post, this week’s WS will revolve around your favorite metals used in watch construction, with pieces demonstrating the principle. While the title states metal, all other materials are welcome, too (as long as you claim them to be favorite).
For some people it’s about the heavy feel of gold or platinum, some like the lightness of titanium, the warmth of colored gold or other aspects.
So let’s see your favorites!
My favorite has also been titanium. From the time I found out about the deep diving Russian Alfa class submarines I always had a soft spot for the metal - especially in watches.
It’s light (not per se but allows a lighter package), durable, not known to cause allergic reaction and allows larger watches to remain comfortable. And if you know what you’re doing you can heat blue it 😁
Or make 51mm watches wear comfortably…
And it it’s more natural finish it can still look like it came off a submarine 😁
Wishing you a great weekend ahead!
