Concern?

I honnestly do not follow you if you are referring to maintenance/ servicing concerns.
1/ as long as the watchmaker lives no problem
2/ No problem either after for all watches made in a traditional manner. Yes, I would be concerned with all small brands/ makes, independent or not using parts riding the wave of high technology… How and where would you find replacement pieces? But with all other traditionally made pieces, and we know they are legion in the indy world, I am not at all concerned. Those watches are often made to last. They have been designed with the factor of time in their creator's mind. I think for example K. Voutilainen's work. There might be someone taking over when Kari is no longer there to service his watches, and those watches are not more difficult to service than so many of the big brands.
3/ Would Rolex excellent service accept to service old/ vintage Rolex (or worse Tudor watches)? No! Are they better and cheaper than other good competent watch repairers? No! Is it impossible to service those watches? No! I have recently had the experience of having serviced some Omegas that went all the way to Bienne. I wrote a long "cahier des charges", point for point with all necessary caveats etc. The watches came back 'serviced' and free of charge. The work done was extremely poor. So poor that I had to send them to a trusted watchmaker. They could not do some of the things I wanted them to do because they did not have the right original pieces… At least when going to an independent watchmaker/ repairer there is the will, the desire and the creativity to make things happen. If the much needed piece(s) does not exist it will be made.
Are you always confident sending your vintage JLC to Le Sentier for servicing? I'd rather send mine to my watchmaker(s)
Now, why are your reluctant ordering watches from good independent watchmakers?
