Philippe Wurtz....

Hi Nick,

it looks quite similar - and in fact he adopted the double escape wheel layout (one for locking only and the other for the lift ) - but the way impulse is transmitted is different. Geniously  simple, but , at the same time, that's  the reason why it's so incredibly hard to do.

In short, the pendulum is supported by a knife edge which itself rests on a second frame with a second knife edge support.
One on top of the other - the top one building the pivoting point for the pedulum - the lower one, beeing the pivoting point of the
anchor and tilting the upper support frame of the upper knife edge. As it's a circular motion, tilting the support of the upper knife
edge also means a slight up and down motion of the pendulum - thus introducing impulse!

As said, geniously simple, but can you believe how complicated it is to realize smile

I'll have to look for some drawings though - as I'm afraid my explanation isn't very clear at all.

Best regards

Suitbert

Hi all, as already has been said - the finish is really outstanding! I also found their design, which I've to admit didn't appeal to me to the same degree in the pictures I had seen before, is absolutely beautifull. It's one of those pieces, although look...
