teasers is fine, but

once it is "overused" it can be tiresome. i personally loved the HM4 teasers, becoz its clearly a new watch, and even dare i say revolutinary. variants of existing models may not have the same effect. one must understand that its MBF as a brand, and certainly its products are, controversial to some extent. its one of those " i love it" or "i hate it" situation. some might even find certain variants gimmickly. i personally love Machines 1 2 and 3....4 still not quite yet.

doing a watch intro teaser, is akin to a stripper doing stripetease. the music, the smell, the ambience, the speed of stripping, the lighting.....all set to create a arousal in the audience...and must be timed in such a way that it "climaxes" at the appropiate moment...not before, not after. and of course...the STRIPPER him/her-self(being politically correct and gender neutral here)

imagine a world whereby Patek decides to do similar teasers....what would the reaction be? boring? wow?

Hororgasm

p.s. for the record, i have NEVER been to a stripclub before.

hummm the difference between a marketing trick and intellectual exercise is getting thinner and thinner... For me, looks more like marketing as the same trick is played again and again ... too much cake, kill the cake or the striper

Following a few comments on "teasers" in this Forum, allow me a few words. When I follow a brand, I like the intellectual challenge of wondering what their next piece will be. Take what Urwerk just posted on what seems to be called Tornado. I love to get ...

Thanks a lot Max for your comments. [nt]

It brings out the child in me and reminds me of Christmas when I would prod and shake and feel the parcels under the tree and imagine the 'toys' to come on Christmas day. And it helps when we build up a degree of trust in a company and the final unveiling...
