Vianney Halter's Art Deco Metropolis...

Dear WPS people,

I don’t post that often, but I did want to share the info on VH latest creation with you. I received a press kit (which I have shared below), and I was actually waiting for a ‘live’ pic, as I wasn’t at W&W. Tony.A. posted 2 on the forum, so I hope you don’t mind, but I took those and would like to thank you for them; credits are mentioned!

The VH Art Deco Metropolis – I am impressed with this watch, but moreover the details on this watch to relive the art deco era..this shows for me the love the VH has for watchmaking….and what I really like about him.

I find this a piece of art on the wrist (even though I haven’t seen it)….and yes, I am biased concerning VH, as he is to me a great watchmaker that does his own thing which I deeply appreciate about him. But I truly like this piece.

I can relate to the color blue and understand where it’s coming from, but I do wonder how this would look like if that portion of the dial would have also been a golden color to sync with the hour markers (rivets) on the case and the mid portion of the dial. But hey...that's why he is a famous watchmaker and I am not...haha.

Separately, this piece has also reignited and sparked my interest in watchmaking again. Thanks VH and I leave you with his sign-off….

LLAP!

Kind regards,

Sc16

Gives a very FPJ Chronometre Bleu Byblos vibe, aesthetically. But still love it, nonetheless

Fabulous ! …

My favourite piece recently launched.

I can say I’ve not loved some of the more recent Classics he has made, not sure they captured the essence of the originals. But this one, it does seem more in line.

I am imagining this watch on my wrist while

Contemplating this icon I recently acquired from the early 20th century Carved, painted, gilded - multiple dimensions like his new dial. The old VH Cazalea ...

If you think back to the most iconic of Vianney's watches, the Antiqua perpetual, the design and the technical mastery share the stage. Together. Pressed to choose between design and watchmaking genius, I'm now inclined to believe I'd choose the former. T...
