I did not direct my answer to you but I do understand what you mean.......LOL smile
Personally for me, I do like the asetheic of the 202 more as 201 is a bit too colorful on the dial.........
and a bit short overall. It looks too compact. 202 has a better length and the dial has a much nicer tone.
I do prefer to have a power reserve too and can anyone enlighten me what's the function of the AM/PM ?
I understand when I have a date function but in this case, I can't really see how I won't know if it's day or night out there.
And to be honest, I do find the 5 years service time found in OPUS 5 and 201 gimmicky too.
If I understand correctly, if I do not wind or use the watch, the service time won't move.
So , if I use the watch very sparingly, it will takes 8 years to reach the 5 years point. Does that mean the watch needs not any servicing?
Well......that is really confusing and unnecessary.
I 'm glad that John says what he feels.....that means he really do like URWERK smile
I feel really good when John loves a watch I own ;-)
I really respect this guy alot........ALOT.
He is a good man.....so are you smile
One day, you need to show me your........hehehehe......you know what ;-)

Hello All, I tend not to comment on watches that I find completely silly or uninteresting, but sometimes watches that are very interesting or attractive in some regard leave with me nagging concerns that I want to voice, perhaps in the vain attempt to giv...

I do find the design of 202 lovely too but I do feel the new auto function a bit of a gimmick. And honestly, does anyone will wear a 202 to do sport? Maybe driving around in a high speed Ferrari or Lambo ;-) Now I drool for a ALTin or TiAIN 201.........si...

Silly yes, Beautiful...yes too!

Firstly, Clang, I get this sence you are directing your comment at me . Funny! John - When I was at at SIHH, I had the opportunity to spend about a hour with the 202. Many Fellow WIS who i was with were making fun of me the whole time, But I was entranced...

is overwinding during sport really THAT big of an issue?

Seems silly and trivial even with a power reserve indicator. It is cool and fun though I suppose, which certainly counts for something.

Hi Seve, On many automatics, the rotor bearing and/or reduction train and/or reverser(s) and/or barrel are the first parts to wear out, so a good, controlled way to limit this wear is a good idea on some level. The problem is that keeping automatics wound...

An eye opener, John.

If Urwerk accepts John's challenge, whether the turbines work as what it is intended, I take my hat off to our firends in Urwerk. Otherwise, I think the turbines in Urwerk is just like the turbine in Zenith. Regards Ling

How about DB24?

Hi John It also has a variable-efficiency winding (VEW) mechanism and no power-reserve indicator. Have you heard of De Bethune proved that their VEW worked? Kong
